THE ADRIATIC COAST: LOCAL CRAFTS, FOOD AND WINE

Extra virgin olive oil, food, wine and hand made textile shops of Romagna.
DESCRIPTION:

Are you in Bologna and do you want to spend one sunny day on the beach on the Adriatic coast and learn something about the specialties of Romagna area?

This is your tour. Put your sunscreen on and get ready!

  • I will pick you up ad about 9:00 a.m. and after 40 minutes drive we will stop at a nice mansion on the hills not far from Bologna for an extraordinary extra virgin olive oil tasting. Extra Virgin Olive oil is mainly produced in the south of Italy (Puglia Region) but in Emilia Romagna there is a famous oil variety, protected by law, which worth a taste!

  • At about 11:30 a.m. we will be ready to visit a family-run hand-made textile shop. An entire family has been decorating linen fabrics with geometrical patterns, flowers and animals since 1826.  We could learn  how they use a carved timber block to obtain their printed aprons, tablecloths, potholders, kitchen towels and much more.

  • 20 more minutes and we will be straight on the Adriatic coast. We will eat the famous piadina romagnola with fish or, if you prefer, with typical cheese and ham and a good glass of Sangiovese wine.

  • Later on we will take a walk on the beach before going back to Bologna in the late afternoon.
